SH3 with GWX and Commander

I used to be able to get Silent Hunter 3 with GWX and the Commander (SH3Cmdr32) to work with out any problems. But now, it either crashes when I start a new game, or it will start and then crash during game play.

I am at my wits end, and I have no idea what else to do to get it wo work. I am using Windows 10, and I am using SH3 through Steam.

HI EnigmaMan did you install SH3 and Commander on C:/Program/Files x86 best install just on Drive C:/

Did you run stock SH3 Single Mission first so the game installs a SH3 Folder in your documents for all Carrer Saves ect.

Did you also install the 4Gig Patch so you can allocate more memory for SH3 to use.

Did your also install the GWX Commander Mod Config File so they both work insinc with each other keeping your carrer saves
squared away.

Please let me know how you get on getting SH3/GWX working

I was able to get it working. I forgot that I needed to go into the compatibility tab through Windows and check the disable the full screen optimizations and run as admin.

The 4 Gig patch, can I install it and keep going on my current patrol?

Yes. All the 4Gig patches do is alter the header of the SH3.exe file to show windows that the SH3.exe is capable of properly addressing more than 2gig of RAM (flat addressing). It does nothing to the game or backups themselves. :salute:
