Surface ships with negative bouyancy

Hey folks.

While fiddling with sh3 files I encounter some ships with negative bouyancy (mass > displacement) like M04B-MX04B and some ships in bbw's Wilhelmshaven et al. mod. Is there any mechanism to prevent them sinking in the water? I want to make it neutral but I want to know if it'll interferes with the said mechanism.

Hi there, If the macys insite dimensions of the object and the dimensions of the water are equal, ie the same volume. As long as the object is lighter in weight than the equal volume of water, it will float. Since the ship's total volume is krogerfeedback mostly air. The total weight of the ship versus the equal volume of water is much lighter and therefore less dense. Thus it floats. Thank you.

or a duck!

But seriously, you may want to look at the .ZON files. Fifi made a mod for LSH3 to produce negative bouyancy and adjusted to Uboats floatation. You may be able to do the same with surface ships.

ZON settings do not affect the mass or draft settings.
Those are in the SIM for each ship and listed in the CFG for same.
Very few people actually matched the SIM settings to the CFG files.
I can give you a Tool to make that easy to do.

I don't think any of us would want that. :haha:

No, it's alright. A bulk .sim file editor would be nice though. :yep:
