Requesting orders

I have a question guys : How do you request orders from BdU in GWX? Is that possible? In the Original SH3 manual it says you can, but I don't know if that works in GWX. It is kinda boring to return to base with lots of fuel and torpedoes left.

Hope I get a reply quickly because I'm in that situation right now :)

I do not know that you can request orders in vanilla sh3 or GWX; however, SH3Commander allows you to choose your own initial operating area prior to putting to sea.

Don't return to base with a full load. Pick a likely spot, search for targets and sink 'em.

Well there is a little mod called WB's Mid Patrol Radio Orders. It sends new orders when you're on patrol, but this is just for immersion. You don't get any renown or anything by following them.

My advice: when you're done patrolling your grid, just seek out another one. Keep going until you're either out of torpedoes or out of fuel. That's what was expected in real life from u-boat commanders as well. Most patrols would last for anything between 25 or 35 days. The longest one lasted 225 (!) days. Though I guess they refueled at sea for that one.

Find a good convoy lane (along the Western Approaches) and set up shop. Normally it doesn't take too long before you've got a target rich environment. Have fun and good hunting! :arrgh!:
