:damn: cant get joystick to work...got a usb saitek cyborg 3d adn dont know how to make it work with the game. Have it plugged in but isnt recognized....

you need to install the drivers that came with it.

Alternatively, go to the game's "setup" from its menu (programs => ubisoft => il-2 1946) and make sure it's set to recognize your stick as input.

Make sure you use Saitek's SST programming software too so you can create a profile for your stick. I've got the wireless version of that sucker so if you have any more problems just throw them my way and I'll try to help as best I can :).

If you go to your control panel, then game controllers, and find out if your joystick is in the list then click add.

Sniper450 04-03-08 07:06 AM

when i try to add it from control panel it says that the usb for game controller is not configured. I thougth i had the SSt software loaded from a long time ago. I will double check today when I get back home. Thanks for all the help! Ill b home mid day and can check it all out.

I have the exact same problem with my Saitek Cyborg EVO. What I did to solve that is I went to the device manager (Start->Control Panel->Performance & maintenance->System->Hardware tab-> device manager) and looked under the Universal Serial Bus controllers. What was the case in my problem was that I had to disable the "Standard Enchanced PCI to USB Host controller". After doing that, it immediatly recognized the joystick.

Now, disabling it isnt permanent, if it doesnt work or you lose control of your e.g. keyboard, just enable it back.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Dowly! Ill try that first when I get home!!!

If thats in the device manager window? double click on it and go to driver, and where it says update driver, click.... and put your software disc in drive, and it should find the appropriate drivers from there.

"this device cannot start (code 10)" was the reply when i tried that Kratos.

XabbaRus 04-03-08 04:57 PM

You don't have to have the SST programming software installed. I don't but it means you have to set the button config up in game.
