Hi vdr

I made one change in the OFEV to the clock from 8 to 1024 and made no difference.

It still opened on 8.

Having Tonnage Bar Problems Then Go To My Tutorial Post #188 :/\\!!

Hi Husksubsky.

The objective will tell you whether you need tonnage, number of ships, battleship or something else.

This is what should move the tonnage bar.

I get mixed up between missions and patrols.

May be someone will explain the difference if there is one?

Peter

Hi back Theberbster:salute:
In Captains log the game state mission objective wich might be to patrol an area, put a spy or something. This might be what navmapfeatures call strategic Objectives..( I have no red cross for my missionobjective to confirm that ATM.) The same navmapfeature call the 70 000 tons (l looked that up in the campaign.cfg file) for Macro Objective and we do need tons or filemanipulation to fulfill it. Macro objectives also get called campaign objective and we need them to succeed in campaign. so when you wrote

"The tonnage bar has no impact on completing Missions and Campaigns.

Missions/Campaigns are date controlled and come on and drop off as the dates change."

I got slightly confused. Although I understand that a VISIBLE tonnage bar is not needed to fulfill macro/campaign objectives.

Hi Tom

If there was no tonnage bar and I am referring to OHII you would not know what (tonnage/ships) would be needed unless you looked in the files.

If I remember correctly Stock does show you what you need to do and possibly the Lite Campaign also.

Without the tonnage bar you would just carry on sinking and re-supplying until the New Mission appeared on the map.

I am calling it Mission as that is what you request from the Flotilla Leader.

I would be inclined to call the Patrol Area the Grid Reference within the Mission or the area around the Yellow Icon.

If you failed all the Missions your loss would be bonus points and medals.

Whether promotions are involved I do not know as I have never been far enough in to the game to find out.

There is a boat upgrade during the Eastern British Coastal Waters when you go back to re-supply.

The game would continue to advance whatever you were doing in it as everything is date controlled.

End the Patrol and you see that Patrol name comes up again.

You can end the Patrol every time you re-supply.

But you do not start a New Mission as you are already in it.

The Mission only finishes when it drops off the map even though you may have completed it early.

It confuses many as they do not understand why they have not got a New Mission showing on the map.

Ok thx I see one misscommunication here from my side. I talked about complete and succeed .. Milky ask just for complete. And ur right, the officer call it mssion. Another name for the same thing.
Thx for the rest of the info. Not so dangerous to fail then.:)

Breaking the fortress

Hi again,

Im really stuck at the Breaking the fortress mission. I have played it before on the vanilla version and i found a capital ship to sink. This time there are no where to be seen. Ive spent 2 hours in that bay now. Cheating useing the external cam. But no capital ship. Ive come to the point that im searching for a skip mission cheat. Can anyone help?

THEBERBSTER 03-07-15 06:50 PM

Hi natwil

Might be of some help, just my notes.

I think the square is the one in the the bay!

My attack position was I laid up in the lagoon during the day and came out in the evening turning left and hugged the coast line.

There is a merchant opposite the entrance to the port moored that I had to pass and rounded it and came through between him and the coast on the left side.

The first BB is surprising close to the coast on the left.

The other BB is a short distance further up and off to the right.

Hi Guys. I need your help, im getting some CTD's right after i enable the "wolves of steel 1.03", on the welcome screen the red bar only get's to half of it and then it crashes. This doesn't happen on the stock SH5 with the 1.20 patch. It's a clean install, and even the pc was been formated right now and have all the drivers updated.

Here are my computer specs
