Widescreen and Reshade working

I'm not sure if you are aware of this solution to the widescreen/reshade incompatibility problem. I could'nt find any archived posts that contain a solution to this problem so I decided to post this just in case.

Widescreen and reshade can work in conjunction if the reshade d3d9.dll is renamed and an enb injector is used to activate it.

I've used it successfully with Ahnenerbe's widescreen mod and M.E.P V6. I have not yet tried it with any of the Megamods.

This is a link to my Reshade/Enbinjector setup:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/2tvu5...adesh3.7z/file

Installation:
Place the contents of the reshadesh3 folder into your main sh3 directory.
Create a desktop shortcut for ENBInjector.exe.
Before starting a game activate the ENBInjector via the shortcut.
After ending your gaming session deactivate the ENBInjector in the taskbar by closing it.

Scrlk toggles reshade ingame.

Thanks for the warm welcome Aktungbby.:Kaleun_Salute:
I recently reinstalled SH3 when I started reading "WOLF PACK" by Gordon Williamson and on revisiting the site was greatly impressed by the amazing mods available for this grand old sim. Ahnenerbe's widescreen mod and M.E.P V6 really bring the game up to date graphically, and I've just downloaded WAC5.2, so I'm ready to dive back in.:D

These are settings that I am using with WAC5.2. I've disabled gaussian sharpening and bloom, enabling gaussian blur. The bloom was causing the WAC5.2 nav map to be way too bright.

Hi!

I cannot make this work for me. I am using SH3Commander and the following mods:

Generic Mod Enabler - v2.6.0.157
[S:\SilentHunterIII_GWX\MODS]

001_02_GWX - Alternative Flotillas
001_04_GWX - Enhanced Damage Effects
001_05_GWX - Captain Americas Officer Icons
001_06_GWX - Integrated Orders
001_07_GWX - Open Hatch Mod
001_08_GWX - No Medals on Crew
001_09_GWX - Contact Color
001_12_GWX - Waterstream Exhaust Combi
001_13_Flat Sun Fix for GWX3
100_40_TKSS18 German U-Boats Compilation
100_50_German U-Boats Compilation 2 (only VIIB & VIIC models by WISE)
200_10_ARB WideGui 1920x1080
200_20_ARB WideGui 1920x1080 v0.3.1
200_30_ARB WideGui 1920x1080 - Adaptation for English & Deutsch
500_10_Hull damage made by torpedo impact mod v1.0
500_20_New_clearsky_clouds
900_10_reshadesh3

I am starting the injector first, then SH3Commander, then I launch SH3 from there. In the injector.ini I have sh3.exe as the process, but it does not catch the process while starting up. There is no log file and no effect in game... I also tried to start sh3.exe directly and to add the commander into the injector.ini in various orders and variations... nothing seems to make a difference whatsoever.

Anything I could do about this or try?

EDIT:
"900_10_reshadesh3" basically just copies the content of the download above to the games main folder. So the injector is next to sh3.exe.

This reshade is Link definition or should work with magui ws? I never edited that file.

Meldric 05-22-20 12:38 AM

when I added SH3Commander as the process, it loaded. I can see it in the logfile. So, in general it seems to work, but it does not "see" sh3.exe when it is started...

I found some hints that sh3 might start to fast for the injector to hook up. Is there anything I can do about that? Maybe a different injector?

Or could anyone here merge the two dlls into one so that this all would not be necessary?

Any ideas?

It works!

I used a different injector (AutoInjector, from SourceForge.net). Does the same thing, but this works for me!

I hope someone can use this information!

I updated ReShade to the latest version. It works with injection as well and is even better, because you can edit the effects on the fly while SH runs and you can see the effect right away.

Incredible! Depth of field looks AMAZING! Of course it makes playing impossible (you will not see anything far away, but then again, it is switched of by one button,...), but it is a blast to make screenshots!
... or Video.

EDIT:
The image is always made smaller while uploaded... No idea why...

I used your autoinjector suggestion and it did work.
I was able to run reshade in widescreen. Unfortunately,
reshade breaks antialiasing on my machine so I can't
really use it permanently. But it is progress and maybe I will figure
out antialiasing failure someday. Thanks for the information.
It is fun to experiment with those various graphic filters in real
time.

Reshade comes with its own aa. Try to install all the shaders and look for aa. It is really worth the effort! It even brings depth of field effects and lensflares!
