New version of my little mod ready for release.

Has anyone tested v 0.1 long enough to exclude any major bug with it, or to report any issue that should be addressed with the upcoming release? :salute:

In the engine room a pvc floor is a bit unrealistic.

True, though -being a photograph of the set of Das boot- the image posted by you can't prove anything! ;)

I will try asking BIGREG how to give engine room's floor a different material than the rest of the sub

Hello GAP

I saw :03: ,but me too,i found not realistic the PVC floor
the ground was demontable, to access the battery / pumps / ammunition etc ... and for the evacuation of water to the pump (leaks etc) and in case of a fire, Ouch ! Hot ! :timeout:

But ,if you want i can make the change other explain you ,how to do :yep:

@LemonA:If you have other photos,as this one (not repaint as the U995 in Laboe),I am interested

Yes, as I wrote in the first page, I am not sure either how realistic would be a PVC floor on a WWII sub. Not because its need to be dismountable (PVC carpets can be cut in pieces to fit the size of any bulkhead), but due to the inflammability of this material. On the other hand, due to its sound absorption properties, it would have been a good alternative to... the use of slippers during silent runnning :haha:

As I wrote in my previous post, that picture refers to a movie set. Anyway, here are some other pictures of Das Boot's mock-up interior:

I think the same type of floor as seen in those pictures, is already featured in one of the interior mods available for SH5. ;)

I too like my new pvc floor - my boat has a new silent when silent running:smug:

BIGREG 09-30-12 02:47 AM

Hi :salute:

Yes,very nice photos ,But ,the vessiko is a type IIa :yep:

Edit:

Here a photo of the U995 ,before they add the PVC floor (but they have already add a aluminium floor...) ,I think they add them to facilitate cleaning and for the security...

Edit :

I think, this texture is the more realistic (should be a little rework:a bit rotation and recut to make it "tileable") :

:hmmm:
that floor in your picture looks even more modern than the PVC one :D

After german capitulation, and before being sold back to Germany as museum ship, U-995 was in service from '48 to '71 with the Royal Norwegian Navy, that used it mostly as a school boat.

Can you imagine how many times they had to change her floor, during this period? Establishing what had to be her original flooring from modern pictures is an hopeless excercise, my friend. :)

Excellent close-up detail, thank you for posting it!

I was able to obtain this (tileable) texture from it:

Yes Trevally, it is really silent, and second advantage is You can gather a good harvest of mushrooms (peneciline) ander this PVC-carpet after couple of weeks in patrol. Urgly smell doesn't matter:03:

Thanks for the mod Gap, new green version looks good:up:.

As for the realism discussion- sure it is not realistic too much but nobody is forcing anybody to download and install it, and it is not a problem to remoove it from the list anytime if needed. I'll give it a try, as for others - tastes differs:yep::salute:
