Too high specs for PC version
 

I understand that comming from a console, the PC conversion is rather good, but the game has incredibly high system requirements, I'm playing on a medium PC with 1GB VRAM and in-game settings to 0 (lowest), and my GPU temp goes up to 80° and more...not the best.
Limiting the FPS to 30 helps somewhat, but still such a 'simple' subsim game should allow for lower requirements.

Is there something I can do in the game settings or the game files ? I'm trying with the tool Radeon Pro (for ATI cards) to tweak AA etc. to make the game run with less GPU load, but the tweaks show no big difference.

The requirements for Crash Dive on PC are actually really low; it should run fine even on systems with integrated graphics (no discrete GPU).

If you're limiting your FPS to 30, it sounds like frame rate is not an issue. Why are you concerned about the temperature of the GPU? Most discrete GPUs have active temperature control; if the temp gets too high, the fan should spin faster to cool it down.

If your GPU is getting hot enough to cause issues (lock-ups, blue-screens, screen garbage), then you have a hardware problem. If you aren't seeing any of those issues, then you have no problem. :yeah:

first congrats for your nice game, it rocks !
It seems that my problem is related to my GPU in general, my laptop being an older one. Temp goes up with somewhat demanding games or apps. I'm moving my games to my desktop comp where no such problems are showing, your game runs fine there.

May I suggest an additional feature to Crash Dive? It would be nice if you could make an emergency surface of your sub if all measures fail and your are almost doomed because of so many damaged systems. Of course, once on the surface you are not safe either :) Anyhow, your crew could leave the sub and - maybe - with some luck be assigned a new sub to continue the 'campaign' mode. Just an idea.

Have you tried blasting the vents of your laptop with canned air to get the dust out? If the airflow is blocked up then the GPU may be heating up more than it should be.
