Feature request

I love having the angriffsscheibe (attack disc) in the sim but could we please get the Time/Speed/Distance side of the disc added as well? That' something I use frequently and would love to have it in the sim as it saves me having to use an out of sim calculator to determine target speeds etc.

Thanks! And keep up the great work guys :Kaleun_Salute:

I remember there being some hesitancy to add that since it wasn’t on the historical device. That reverse side is actually the reverse side from the American “is was” slide rule, or at least very similar to it. The reverse side of the historical German attack disc had lead angle tables instead. I personally have nothing against adding it though. I’d just make a note in there if they do that it wasn’t historical etc.

Another option is Sub Buddy, a mobile app that has a historically accurate attack disc and also a T/S/D side. I made all the tutorials in it and consulted on it, but I did not do any of the coding etc., that was a very talented member Elphaba here on Subsim.. And I don’t reap any of the benefits of its sale, but just highly recommend it.

Hmm, I thought that was actually a real thing... It's kind of hard to find images of both sides of an original angriffsscheibe. I'd definitely like to have a T/S/D calculator though. I mean in-sim, I actually already made myself a nice plastic replica attack disc with a case which is what I generally use now.

That’s a beautiful model!

Here is a real one. Had a handle underneath. The tables there are lead angles for 0-gyro shots, for different AOBs, torpedo and target speeds.

Oh wow! That's a great photo. I've never seen an image of the original back before. Thanks for sharing. =)
