Hey chaparro.

The main problem is your GPU Fleet Command doesn't like Nvida graphic card.:cry:

There are a few thing you can do thought.

1. Install DirectX 9.
2. Adjust Window 7 for Best performance.
3. Turn off all background software.
4. Use the Glide wrapper files.
5. Set the Nvida driver to best performance.
6. Don't have the Task Manger running went the game is playing.

Let me know if you need any more help. :salute:

Disable Aero if that's even possibile.
As a last resort install XP in dual boot for those games that don't work in windows 7.

I also have the old version of FC. I also have tried every step in all the info I have got.

I also tried to purchased the SCS version(2008) but i can't find it in any online store or in my local computer shop.

My friend gave my a good advice-Buy an extern HDD install my old XP-Pro on it and I should be able to play all my old games that I can't play anymore, on my new computer(Vista)

FC
SHIII
DC(on my first Vista, I could)

Markus

Fleet command problem resolved.

Ok i finaly got the game to run, without the flickering, it doesnt run smothly but it runs and no major problem,
this is what i did:
first i close all the programs in the back ground.
then i install the game using the FLEET COMMAND INSTALLER PATCH then
i use a program call DGVOODO 1.40 PLUS, this program create a virtue 3dfx like a voodo 2 and use the glide 2.34 as a video card, unzip the files inside the FLEET COMMAND FOLDER, once that is done open the interface located in the same folder you unzipped is call DGVOODO SETUP, click and you will see the interface that looks just like the voodo card and you can tweek the seting to your hearts contend, but i sugest to leave it the way it is, unless you have problems.
then i made a shortcut and use compatibility with WINDOWS XP SERVICE PACK 3, then i disable VISUAL THEMES AND DESKTOP COMPOSITIONS, in the same tab you are once inside the simulator in grapghics set up your video card to use the glide 2 video and you are set to go, any question let me know,
good luck.
you can download FLEET COMMAND INSTALLER AT SUBSIM.COM IN THE DOWNLOAD SECTION AND THE DGVOODO 1.40, SEARCH IN GOOGLE.

Hey juniorjj84.

To stop the game running slow just press Ctrl+v to toggle radar coverage,
this will make the game run nice and smooth on all Gpu's. :salute:

First things firts:: HOW ARE YOU FEELING? BETTER, THATS GOOD IM GLAD.:yeah:
NOW TO THE NITTY GRITTY.

Just as i expected, i follow the instruction and got the whole thing up and running, formated the hard drive, partition it, install win 98, boot the computer and everything went smooth until it boot up, had win 98 running and the all of a sudden all hell broke loose,:wah::damn::damn::damn:, what happend, you ask? well is simple my computer is a very advance piece of hardware and win 98 is not up for this kind of computer, it will run but only if there were drivers for her, and thats the problems, there is no drivers for most of the hardware install in my computer, to mention some, the video card, sound card, the preocessor, and so on:arrgh!:, but at least we give it a try, unless you have a better idea that is, what windows xp? well thats an orternative but personly i dont like win xp, but we can try, so i will keep that in mind.

One of the main problems for running W98SE on a up to date computer, is too much RAM. One Gigabyte is the max that W98SE can load up on without it crashing.

There are two ways around this problem.

First one: :hmmm:

You can edited the OS to stop this problem happening, I've got a web site that explains how to do this.

Seconded one: :hmmm:

If you lower your computers RAM to 1GB W98SE should load-up, I've done this on a real high end MoBe & laptop and it works ok then, but getting the drivers is the problem then.

The graphic card is a easy fix, get a old GPU like a PCI 3DFX gpu, and you could do the same for the sound card.

Having said all this the best way to play FC is to get an modern desktop\laptop\netbook with a GMA GPU has I said before.

Something like these three would be be great for running the game.

I've been thinking about buying the one from Evil Bay. :salute:

juniorjj84 04-15-11 03:15 PM

Ok so the best bet right now for me is try to get an old computer or asamble one from scrach, i think ill do this, instead of buying one, is a lot cheaper to and i will be able to play all my games including the dos one too, so thats what im gonna do next, lets hope i can find one around, the evil one looks very promissing, lets see if i can finally make up mi mined, thanks for the tips.
