maybe, maybe we could start the war earlier than Dec 7 1941...

I already had a thought about the war in Manchuria when I obtained Dagon's Lemninet L15 submarine for our campaign, since it was sunk off the USA by I-25, I think there were naval skirmishes between IJN and russian forces.

gotta research what forces the chinese had to pit against the IJN

The Japanese Army developed the Ka-1 autogyro for reconnaissance, artillery-spotting, and anti-submarine uses. The Japanese Army liked the craft's short take-off span, and its low maintenance requirements. The production began in 1941 and the first autogyros were assigned to artillery units for artillery spotting. These carried two crewmen: a pilot and a spotter.

Very limited, almost all their navy was sunk in 1937 by air attacks...

Just coming aboard again after an extended cruise on a third rate ship of the line ( A Dutch 74) care of Empire: Total War...

And what a relief it is to be back!

Great progress guys! Keep it up! To say I'm looking forward to the full campaign eagerly would be nearing the superlative in understatement.

The British also used an AutoGyro during WWII.

I still have the version created for GWX 3 that was never included.
Along with the information on where and how they were used.

There's quite a bewildering array of Japanese sub types. How many will be playable in the campaign?

Also - will the campaign be essentially a "what if" campaign vis a vis Japanese subs? Will the player be doing missions according to what the Japanese subs should have been used for (attacking shipping) or will there will be resupply runs and that sort of thing? A blend of both, perhaps?

One last question - ETA on the first release of the campaign?

Thanks very much for your hard work, by the by.

[QUOTE=HMCS;1498569]There's quite a bewildering array of Japanese sub types. How many will be playable in the campaign?

Type A1

Type J1M (I-5)

Type C1/C2
(I-47)

Type C3
(I-52)

Kaidai 3a

Jyunsen B

intel on :

http://www.combinedfleet.com/sensuikan.htm#tromsi

I am currently polishing up the new Kaichu model (RO-35) but the rest are ready, Sen Toku is at 85%. We are using only ships with a great enough range though we are still discussing including the Ko Hyoteki we made to play single missions.

Also - will the campaign be essentially a "what if" campaign vis a vis Japanese subs?
Not really, we are trying to stick to what the japanese doctrine was and to what they used their subs for, though in RL they did a lot of suplly missions, you should see less of that in the campaign, but Peabody is really the one to answer that part as he make the campaign files.

One last question - ETA on the first release of the campaign?
asap with rl taken into account.

Thanks very much for your hard work, by the by.

our pleasure !
