Then again maybe it's a glitch of the way I hit the keys as they were at their post when I ordered CD then immediately hit PD ( P key ) realizing my mistake. No big deal as it's the first time I've seen it since start of SH4. :)

Aww...no fair, I didnt get sailors who can breather under water

awesome screen shots.

What key is used to get them other than the Print Screen key?

Thanks

Awesome stories. Especially the ones done in "military" format.

Are the patrols kept in detail this way. Lots to remember including times to place on paper?

Or

are the captains of thier boats really taking [paper] notes during thier patrols? :)

Good or bad I strive to not be like the others. Meet the CowSub Mark-1 Pacific - it doesn't blend in well in water, but honestly who cares as long as it runs on milk?

Oh and the crew as dubbed her "Elsie-san", since she's destined to spread her mad cow disease (read torpedoes) to lots of Japanese merchants and warships.

Anything else....:hmm: Yes the emblem, you can't see so well in that screenshot so I zoomed in:

*Captain I said it was a bad move to attack that submerged cow!

The Deadly Orange Marker Mine

Returning from my fifth Photo Recon of Osaka Harbor. We were resting quitely at about 110 ft below the suface. We were waiting for night so we could make our run over the shallow entrance to the harbor before getting back to deep water.

Sonar calls out "Warship Closing Moving Fast Short Range". Hey, what do we care? We are at all stop, rigged for silent running, so no problem.

I decide to pop up just for a look see and sure enough one of them damn gun boats. Well I am not worried for sure now. He does not have D/C racks. All is well with the world.

I watch this little sucker, maybe it was a medium little sucker run right over my position. He runs over my little orange marker. "BOOM!!!" he blows sky high. What the hell? !!!

I take a dip back under the water. I see my boat way down below. I check for damage, no damage everyone but watch is asleep. Back above the water my little friend is starting to come apart and sink.

Sink? Where is he going to sink? He is right above my boat. O' Sh**!!! Quick, like a water logged bunny I duck down to the boat, sure enough he is going to land on my deck just in front of the conning tower. I hit GQ, go to all back emergency and just get enough away that the wreck glances off my bow, no damage. Close,,,But No Ccc-gar.

The crew thought it might be some sort of jap kamikazi trick. But I know now it was the deadly Orange Marker Mine we were issued, but never told about. You know, Top Secrect, Hush Hush stuff. That is what blows up the Jap DDs when they ram us. It seems to only work on warships.

That my friends, is my little tale of the close call at Osaka and The Deadly Orange Marker Mine.

In real life the captains kept a log book. The navigation charts kept track of where they were at what time throughout the patrol. Once contact with the enemy was made the tracking party and fire control worked out enemy course and speed in relation to your own position. All the above was done on paper and the combined records should have been enough to come up with a fairly detailed patrol report.

Does anyone know if subs had a person in the control room that kept dedicated notes on what happened? I would think not. In surface ships, maybe? Too crowded in subs to have non-essential personnel around the control room and conning tower.

I love the emblem!!
You should make a mod so that it appears on the torpedos too, or better yet, have the cow riding the torpedos right into the ennemy ships. That would make a great video! :rotfl:

Can't help with Photoshop plugin but I used DXTBmp to convert DDS. files into BMP. Then did the changes, saved and converted back into DDS with DXTBmp

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multime...s/DXTBmp.shtml

PS. I wouldn't recommend using text in SH4 textures because it mirrors them on the other side
