Not trying to offend anyone but should this topic not be unsticky'd?

It's a 2 year old topic with dead links, and its the old version of JSGME, lots of people are misguided by the title, i was gone for a while and fell for it like a fly falls for sh.., well you know what a fly likes.

Maybe just a topic with the link to 2.6? Or just post 67 and close it?

What ever happened to this mod and it's creator?

JSGME update

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...p?do=cat&id=74

Now the JSGME pdf file is added to a downloads utility section has a separate download. The other JSGME download package has the pdf file with it now. Thanks Sailor Steve and Neal Stevens for the help.

If you've used JSGME to enable mods for SH3, then the procedure would be exactly the same for SH5. If it's still unclear, this video may be of assistance:

Hope it helps and welcome to Subsim! :sunny:

No. It'll work with it, or without it. GWX is an all-in-one megamod which comes with its own installer. If you do choose to use it, you can always add additional mods via JSGME. :sunny:

Link JSGME to SH5

Hi

I have downloaded JSGME 2.6, the downloaded file is a zipped file, i unzipped it and it showed a folder with all the JSGME files including the the JSGME.exe file. however i activate the mods using their instructions and i open the game but it doesnt actually work. none of the mods show up on the game.
I've checked tutorials that say JSGME must be installed, but their is no setup file in the JSGME folder that i downloaded, and i searched for it with no success.

Basically, I dont know how to link the JSGME.exe file to SH5 for the mods to work.

Disable all your mods for SH5, wherever they may be. Place the JSGME.exe in your main SH5 folder. Now run JSGME.exe. A newly created folder called MODS, and subfolders under MODS will be created within SH5. Now move all your SH5 mods into the newly created MODS folder. Activate the mods you want using JSGME and the mods should show up in the game.

JSGME Installation for Dummy's! (Help:( )

Forgive me, but I am not a PC guru. I don't understand the lingo to install this mods program and let alone run it. The instructions are beyond my level of PC expertise.
*********************************

==1. CENTRAL INSTALLATION==
You can install the JoneSoft Generic Mod Enabler (JSGME) to a central location and point it to each of your games through creating shortcuts. To do this:
  1. install JSGME to a central location (for example, “C:\Games\Generic Mod Enabler”). Keep the “Create a desktop icon” option selected in the installer
  2. once installed, DO NOT RUN! Copy and paste the newly created JSGME desktop shortcut as many times as you have games and change the “Start in” folder of each shortcut to point to each game’s base folder. To change the “Start in” folder, right-click the shortcut, select “Properties” and then the “Shortcut” tab.
  3. rename each shortcut to something meaningful, such as “JSGME - GameName1”, “JSGME - GameName2”, “JSGME - GameName3” and so on. To rename a shortcut, simply right-click the shortcut and select “Rename”
Using JSGME with subsequently installed games is simply a matter of copying, pasting and editing an existing shortcut (steps 2 and 3 above). And whenever JSGME is updated, you only need to install it once.

==2. SEPARATE INSTALLATION==
If you prefer, you can install separate copies of JSGME into each of your games. To do this, simply install JSGME to the base folder of the game that you would like to mod. The base folder usually contains the game’s main executable file and usually has a name unique to the game. If in doubt, consult the game’s online community. If you keep the “Create a desktop icon” option selected, the installer will add a uniquely named shortcut to your desktop.

************* NONE OF THIS MAKES SENSE TO ME!!!!
I intend to utilize this for my SH5, and I have the current version!

Dankeschon alle! :arrgh!:
