Spitifires are useless against He-111s I ploughed a full load of ammo into one and was getting hits and the most I could do was kill the rear gunner and make his engines smoke.

Ground attack sortie was better. P-47 is good though I over egged a move and crashed.

The second sortie I managed to bag a few planes and flak guns.

Looking forward to the Beaufighter, my favourite strike plane.

I would sure like to fly a Mossie, favorite ground-attack after the Henschel Panzerknacker at the moment

Schroeder 03-31-09 08:15 AM

For ground attack I settle with everything but the Mossie. For some reasons I always die in that thing.:o
Give me a P47, a Tempest or a Beaufighter.

Good planes reject bad artists when they try to pilot them

Schroeder 03-31-09 09:33 AM

Is that why you have so much trouble in fighters?:O:

Fighters don't know whats good for 'em

Oberon 03-31-09 11:06 AM

Didn't have so many troubles on the first attack run, in fact, if I recall correctly, I was the only one that didn't get splattered by Archie :smug:
Knocked out a couple of planes on the ground and strafed that transfer station thingie, then RTB'd out of ammo as Red Max came in on his second run. Flipped on landing rather than go into the trees. (we need a bigger airfield, Biggin Hill perhaps?).
Second group take-off involved Hunter going into the trees and me following him, well, I survived the trees, clipped the ground, caught fire and bailed out, faceplanting the ground while my plane exploded into little pieces. It was quite funny to watch, hope someone got some footage :DL
After that, we tried again, and I pulled up just a little sharp whilst taking off and spun to the left and into the ground. The Tempest sure has a pull on her, she drags to the right something cronic on take-off and if you don't watch out once you're in the air, she'll spin out. You can only really relax your hands once you're above 500m and 400kph. :o We're not flying Hurricanes anymore! :haha:
So, we formed up and made our way back to take out the rest of the Archie, I got one on the first pass and was doing a lovely climb and bank around to nail a second which I spotted opening up (I was impressed at this point at the Tempests maneuverability, if I had tried that in a Hurricane or perhaps even a Spit, I would have probably stalled and spun into the ground) when he got a lucky shot on my rudder controls, so I shot what I could at him rocket wise but I think Hunter nailed him, after that I RTB'd into the trees.
Next time I go to Lympne, I'm taking a chainsaw... :shucks:

Oberon 03-31-09 11:13 AM

Oh, and who was it in the Spit wing who I buzzed? :yeah: I thought I'd show the flyboys what a real aircraft looked like and flew straight through the middle of their formation with my Hurri :haha::rock:

HunterICX 03-31-09 11:17 AM

Yeah, I will move the airbases to larger ones.

M#3 was in Beta stage.

I will make the enemy airbases a bit more realistic, building something like that is time consuming :dead:

+Truck convoys going from place to place
+trains

for M#4:

Convoy attacks done by Beaufighters.
2 parts.

1st part:
Merchant convoy with some Destroyer escorts

2nd part:
Taskforce a fair amount of Destroyers, and ofcourse a KMS Generisch

What size taskforce are we talking about here Hunter? I hope its a small one, cause if its a big one we'll be in the drink before we drop our fish!! Also are we flying the Beaufighter Mk.21 or the Beaufighter Mk.X?

HunterICX 03-31-09 11:53 AM

Taskforce size,

I think 1 Capital Battleship surrounded by 5-6 Destroyers...
blue group and red group have to work together to do maximum damage to this one.

We're using the modded Beaufighters Mk.X iirc.
it can carry 1 torp and rockets at the same time so its perfect for these attacks.

Sweet I was hoping to use the Mk.X because of its many diffrent outloads. It would a good idea if those who are out of ammo, to fly around the taskforce to draw fire from the ship so the attacking planes have a better chance of surivial. Like what I did with Oberon yesterday with the He-111, I flew over it to give the gunners a target while he emptied his guns on the enemy plane.

Schroeder 03-31-09 12:58 PM

If there are 5-6 destroyers that wouldn't be a good idea (=suicide). We should join our squads and attack together. Everyone picks a destroyer to attack and after the rockets/torpedo are gone we move away as low and fast as we can, turn after we are out of AAA range and RTB to reload and take out the BB.
Better suggestions are welcome.:salute:

Task Force 03-31-09 01:52 PM

Yea, during the task force attack, were probably all gonna end up like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4Zwy...eature=related

Those flak guns are gonna rip us to peices.
