Yep, wondering if someone screwed up. :haha:

Been reading that people using Win 7 are having problems getting the game to launch, anyone here have that problem?

Onkel Neal 02-03-21 04:12 PM

I downloaded it and started a tutorial but I'm going to put it aside and wait for the first couple of patches to put any time into it.

Thanks Neal, good idea. Patch for Win7 users is being worked on as we speak, Plus making the UI easier to read, lol

The only problem with those games is that never have multiplayer

Cold Waters and all other would be amazing in MP

I am so happy with single player :)

The reviews on Steam are really being overcritical and nit-picking. There are so few games in the genre, they should be supported, not torn apart for small things that will get fixed eventually.

I disagree. I bought the game and refunded before I read the negative reviews. After reading the reviews, I agree with the points that are brought up and being criticized, rightfully so. The game has a lot of potential, but many things needs a lot of work to be done to be enjoyable. I love Killerfishgames other games, but this one was rushed out and the asking price is way high for what you get.

Refunded here too, mistook it for Task Force Admiral, American carrier battles, will wait for that one instead.

Bought it, tried it, like it so far. Not sure about all the negative reivew, it has not been my experience so far. The game is stable, no CTDs or freezes so far. It does have a steep learning curve and following the tutorials is key. I fought one of the battles and that is where the game shines, surface naval combat.

Bilge_Rat 02-05-21 05:38 PM

had a chance to spend a couple of hours on this, the night "Single Battles" are very well done, accurate OOB, gunnery, torpedo attacks, damage control, very immersive and really what I was looking for. They also modeled most of the surface battles in 42-43 in the Solomons. The night is clearer than I would like and the AI plans need to be tweaked (although not bad as is), but no real issues so far.

I'll echo what kozel said. The quoted bit above is something I disagree with. The paying customers have no obligation to soften the blow for the developer. You say that these things will be fixed eventually. If they are, the reviews will reflect that.

The positive reviews are climbing. Now only 28% neg reviews. Glad to see Killerfish so active on the fixes.

Bilge_Rat 02-09-21 01:28 PM

well I have been playing it a lot, there are some issues and bugs, some mechanics are simplified, but on the whole a very nice game:

-surface warfare is on the whole well done: gunnery, damage control, star shells, formation control, radar. Shell/torpedo damage and damage control seem about right.

-submarine and ASW is fairly basic;

playing through the tutorials and reading the manual is a must. A lot of stuff in there, the Devs may have tried to stuff too much into one game.

Still have not tried carriers, air battles, the campaign, having too much fun replaying the historical night surface actions in the Solomons: Savo Island, Cape Esperance, both Naval battles of Guadalcanal, Tassafaronga, Kula Gulf, etc.

If you are into WW2 surface naval warfare, this is a must buy.

Good info! It’s on my radar for sure. Been checking the steam discussions daily.
