Harper's "Golden Ale"

Not as strong as their Amber Ale although at the same price. Very refreshing after food Edit: since writing this, Golden Ale has appeared in an all-new bottle with a snazzy Union flag bottletop - strange thing is that it's now ABV 4.5% https://i.imgur.com/wQQiJi3.jpg https://i.imgur.com/lU8WK9e.jpg |
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

A small 355ml bottle but with a big punch - this crisp pale ale tastes almost like a dark beer with its full and satisfying bitterness; maybe you Yanks know how to brew proper beer after all :Kaleun_Cheers: |
Just received a few different beers amongst my fathers day presents off the kids.
Nothing special but coming from my kids makes them kinda priceless if you know what I mean. I'll take a picture or two soon. |
Yes the one above was the first of this year's Fathers Day batch - along with a bottle of Lamb's. I've tried no end of fancy rums but I always come back to Lamb's :Kaleun_Cheers:

Brewdog "Indie"

Pleasant, creamy, frothy pale ale. Very nice to have with my pizza on Fathers Day |
Wickwar 'Golden Arrow' pale ale
https://i.imgur.com/gtMG2kV.jpg ABV 6.1%; B&M Stores
Nice alcohol hit in this strong pale ale - a sound and vaguely fruity flavour, but overall a strong ale to be enjoyed on its own rather than with food |

Robinsons Special Edition Label
https://i.imgur.com/9v5fpIZ.jpg ABV 4.7% from B&M Stores
A nut-coloured ale with a malty bitterness tempered by a soft sweetness; very nice to drink slowly Apparently produced in co-operation with Iron Maiden's vocalist Bruce Dickinson - I wonder whether that just means they kept pouring it down his throat until he fell over. Moira got this for me just because it's got a zombie on the label and she's a big zombie fan |
Marston's "Mythos" Hellenic Beer
https://i.imgur.com/zauKQLk.jpg 5% ABV, from B&M Stores
What a beautiful beer - a blonde with none of the reedy wheat tastes you might expect - just a soft honeyed flavour with a strong alcoholic punch |
Harper's IPA
https://i.imgur.com/FiKBpIg.jpg Alc. 5.5%; £1.29 from ALDI Stores
It does what it says: a very hoppy, strongly bitter ale and very enjoyable on its own. It's described on the till receipt as "American IPA" - despite the neat Union Flag bottle cap and the legend "Proudly brewed in Britain" on the neck label :hmmm: |
