Couple of yers ago I thought that when had time, for immersion reasons would keep a deck log of activity when on patrol in SH4 and then turn the deck log into a war patrol report fashioned after those has read.
I found the old template in my my email so decided since was about and decided would do it since was starting a new career in 1943 with a Gato out of Brisbane and my favorite US submarine of WW 2 (visited her many times since a wee lad) the USS Drum SS 228.
Last patrol I kept a running deck dog of pertinent information such as nightly position at 0000, speed course, SJ SD and visual contacts. Targets sunk, firing range, AOB, speed etc and using the submarine action report file that comes with FOTRS, I completed them after each attack based on running log kept in a word file, had open while running the patrol.
I am running TMO with my custom traffic and various other mods, ship pack.
Realism settings were set on 100 with map contact updates o off. This was a challenging and immersive patrol that turned out excellent. Without map contacts a lot of ranges etc are estimates.
The patrol partially emulated Wahoo's real life third patrol with the showdown with the DD in Wewak on 24 January and the convoy on 26 January.
The war patrol report and patrol log will be uploaded together. Enjoy and provide feedback if would like. Hope get something started, would like to read reports of other skippers.
See readme. Enjoy
