During the Second World War, the Japanese Navy developped over a dozen types of PT boat type vessels. The first experimental vessels were launched in 1940, but the Gyoratei only began appearing on mass by 1943, with a total of 353 vessels completed by the end of the war. They were woefully lacking compared to other countries' ships. Most ships
were caracterised by slow speeds, poor reliability and heavy surface armement. Serving in the Guadalcanal campaign onwards, they scored no success, with only 49 MTB and 17 Motor Gunboats lost during the war.

This is a PT Boat modified to look like a Gyoratei. The only other Gyoratei being one made by MadMax, I decided to add some variety to the fleet. Statisticly, this ship represents a T31 type Gyoratei, one of the more numerous types of japanese motor torpedo boats built during the war, although since there are no illustrations of a T31 type, it won't be
completely accurate. I removed the torpedo tubes, changed the guns, moved the searchlight forwards and changed the statistics to represent the historical ship.
I'll probably improve the gun arrangement in the future, once I start to understand gun rotation parameters.
