This is the depth charge noise mod for stock (vanilla) SH3. It also contains the test single mission "Hunted". Simply unzip the file and place in your MOD folder and enable with jsgme.
The parameters for the water disruption left behind by the depth charge explosion are currently set as:
life_time (in minutes): 5
surface (area, in m2): 300
noise: 1.5
This is the lifetime of a Bold 1 decoy, with the apparent surface area of a Bold 3. The noise factor is a guess, as all the Bold decoys are set as noise=0, so I suspect that somehow the actual deployment sets the noise factor.
I have gradually discovered that the particles.dat portion for @Depthcharge_explosion, which is linked to the depth charge sim file as under_explosion, is shared by quite a few other effects; for instance, torpedo detonations, bombs explosions and possibly hedgehog explosions. Once I have positively established that the depth charge noise mod is stable, and have decided what variables work best/realistically, I will create a distinct, separate effect for just the depth charge explosions.
