Some of us like planning our attacks and navigation on a maneuvering
board. The free to download 3D design program Sketchup has a
protractor, a measuring tool, a line tool and a circle tool. Now it has
a maneuvering board and a metric nomograph as well.
Installation:
1. Download Sketchup from it's home page
2. Download template
3. Put template in Sketchup's folder Resources/en-US/Templates
4. Install Sketchup and set "Maneuvering board metric" as the default
template
If you want to learn maneuvering board techniques google "maneuvering
board pdf"
Usage:
1. Usually Alt+Tab is needed to switch between SH3 and Sketchup.
2. Alternatively you can run Sketchup on an old computer side by side with
your new computer.
3. IMO, the most fluent way of using the maneuvering board is using a program that let's you scroll around your desktop freely, like in this clip:
