"300" Spartan Movie

I just saw a movie trailer for the movie "300"

Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, 300 is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy.

I dont think i like some of the more mythical scenes.. .when it comes to history i like it as accurate as possible.

but by god i'll be right at the front of the line to go and see it!:rock: :rock: :rock:

Just for a reality check, remember that it is based on a comic book. So I think we can throw out any notions of realism right up front and just enjoy the ride :|\\

thats true enough, i just am longing for a good portrayal of the stand of thermopylae! There hasnt been one since the 300 spartans, but i reckon this is a pretty good step in the right direction!

I agree with some comments here, although the story is really good and the movie does look pretty cool, since its based on a comic and less on historical fact, it's a little less appealing to me, but it still looks cool none the less.:know:

I have the original DVD version that's linked above (not a bad movie). I saw the trailer for this latest edition when I went to see, The Last King of Scotland (great movie, incidentally). I think I'll check it out, though I most likely would enjoy the movie more without the fantasy theme and magical spells etc.
