Default Help with SH5 Map tools

Hello Kaleuns,

This may be a silly question, but how do you move marks and lines that you have placed on the map in SH5? I just started playing Sh5 and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this...

I normally play SH3 and I'm used to being able to click and drag the user drawn marks and lines around as I fine tune my observations but this doesn't seem to work in Silent Hunter 5. What am I missing?

(In case it makes a difference, I am using TWoS mod)

In the same way I suspect its just that you have not found the right technique.
Each tool has 2 colors.
An initial selection movement color and the fixed position color.
When you place your mouse over the X mark and click on it you should be able to drag it to a new position.
Similarly with say the compass you have 2 places where you can change it.
By clicking on its center it will change color so you know you have it.
The same applies to its outer edge grab point where you can change its size.

Just like in SH3? For some reason this hasn't been working for me... Once I've placed, say, a ruler line, if I hover over one of the end points of the line, the line turns red like in Sh3, but when I left click and drag it nothing happens. Needless to say I am very confused

Hi H
Picture 1 > Is the Rulers starting point showing the mouses curser.

Picture2 > To extend from the starting point for a right handed mouse you hold down the left mouse button over the + and drag to where you want to place it and press the right mouse button to release the movement..

Picture 3 > Shows the Ruler line has been extended further by repeating the instructions from picture 2.

Picture 4 > Shows the Ruler line with the + at each end.
You should be able to move this Ruler line anywhere by locking onto one of the + and dragging it, and then releasing it.

Picture 5 > Shows the other end of the ruler line has been re positioned with the same instructions.
a right click with the mouse button will lock it in place.

Thanks for the help guys. I figured out my problem.

I was doing it right, but you can't move marks while paused, that was the problem! You can in Sh3 so that was tripping me up.
