radar "THE TWO LIVES OF THE WOLF" MOD

Historical context: "The Two Lives of the Wolf" USS SEAWOLF (SSN-575)

1st Epoch:The United States Navy’s 4,000-ton USS Nautilus was recognized as the world’s first operational-level nuclear submarine when it was commissioned in September 1954 with its S2W nuclear unit. Later work resulted in the remarkable USS Seawolf. The only major change was in the reactor (in this case the sodium-cooled SIR S2G, smaller than the water-cooled STR S2W).Other changes were in the sail and bow. A small conning tower was provided to keep the hull deeper to the depth of the periscope.Problems soon arose:the SIR reactor developed superheater leaks when the submarine went full power.Bypassing the superheater, Seawolf performed his "full power" test in February 1957 with reduced power. It was commisioned on March 1957.The Seawolf's SIR was replaced by the STR reactor between 1958 and 1960.In 1963 he participated in the search for the USS Thersher (SSN-593) and in several Fleet operations. In May 1965,the submarine entered the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard to refuel and an extensive overhaul that lasted until September 1966.Subsequently, it participated in various operations of the Fleet training until January 1971,when he was converted to Special Operations Submarine at Mare Island Naval Shipyard, through work that lasted until 1973.

2nd Epoch:The modifications for Special Operations missions, included the installation of: a new 52 ft "special projects" hull section forward of the sail, bow and stern thrusters and other systems to support saturation divers and operation of remote underwater vehicles. In 1974 became fully operational and conducted her first Pacific Fleet deployment. A fines de ese año, equipped with special cameras that were lowered to the seabed, examined the site of the failed attempt to raise Soviet submarine K-129. Between 1975 and 1978,conducted "Operation Ivy Bells" and repeatedly visited the listening devices originally placed in 1972 on submarine communications cables in the Okhotsk Sea. In 1978 was refueled.Between 1979 and 1982,continued conducting "Operation Ivy Bells". Later, Seawolf continued to be used to locate and recover items in the open sea. In 1984,conducted a 93-day
deployment to western Pacific, then the longest submerged deployment of any submarine. Finally,on 30 March 1987,Seawolf was decommisioned.

The American submarine included here is:

USS SEAWOLF (SSN-575) circa 1968 and circa 1984.

AS ALWAYS, MAKE A PREVIOUS BACKUP OF ANY FILE THAT WILL BE REPLACED!!!.

Replace or add new files to "DotMod"according to their location in the "Nuclear Missing Link II" mod folders. In addition,we've added: 1.A modified "Editor.txt"so that you can add it to your own naval combats. It is the only modification made to that file.2.A modified "summary.txt"so that you can add it to your own "Campaign001" and "Campaign003".3.A"single005.txt"and "single008.txt"so that you can add it to your own fight.4.The option to install a fictional torpedo MK45XL only for "recreational purposes"...

NOTE:The SDV (Seal Delivery Vehicle) was thought up and added to the mod to give a little more realism to those individual missions and campaigns involving the deployment of special forces. We must have managed to overcome the limitations of modeling. To use it, simply load the vehicle into tube 7 and handle it like any wire-guided torpedo. Max Launch Depth:100ft. Although it is based on real-life SDVs,the speed and range were slightly modified from the actual values to suit the dynamics of the game. Please note that because it is based on a Decoy, any contact with another element of the game or the Mesh Hull Collider of the sub, will cause our Commandos to disappear along with your vehicle...¡ Enjoy it!

AGAIN....MAKE A PREVIOUS BACKUP OF ANY FILE THAT WILL BE REPLACED!!!.

As always, any difficulty or doubt or criticism will be received and processed accordingly.I hope you enjoy it without problems.Greetings!!!. Marcelo
