GFO question
playing GFO.
driving an S-boat into 1943 and i know that her time is limited so i accept an upgrade to a Balao in March 1943. Mark 16 torpedos show up in the ammo dump. ok, let's take these for a ride except there is no data/info in the respective info box when i click on the torpedo. that's odd!?!?! when i peruse the TSR file, there is info there and in the proper position so why doesnt it appear in the game when i click on one of the fish? what other files are needed to have torpedo info display? Sboat Mk 10's with data Balao Mk 16 with no data Generic Mod Enabler - v2.6.0.157 [C:\Ubisoft\GFO\MODS] 101 GFO_Game Fixes Only Mod v1.1 110 Stop The Shouting 180 MaxOptics IV for GFO 1.1 185 Medals Fix IV for v1.5 - STOCK by CapnScurvy 500 jimimadrid Torpedos (note: applied in the same relative position for all save files.) 600 - 3000 Yard Bearing Tool (1920x) 610 Webster's 300' Underwater Visability for v1.5

The stock game's UPCLocalization.tsr file is not changed by GFO, nor jimimadrid's torpedo mods. The Mark 10 is listed like this in stock:
Mk10TorpInfo=Speed: 36 kt|Range: 3,200 m|Propulsion: Steamand the Mark 16 (1944 and later - if active at all in GFO) has Mk16TorpInfo=Speed: 46 kt|Range: 12,500 m|Propulsion: Hydrogen PeroxideNote that both of them have an empty "Notes" field, which is indicative of stock. Your install shows signs of added content for the Mark 10, so look at either MaxOptics or the MedalsFix mods from CapnScurvy for an edited UPCLocalization.tsr file, and see if one of the the fields has a typo for "Mk16TorpInfo" and Mk16TorpNotes. |

i figured it out. in the game, the Ammo GUI takes the data, not from the TSR, but from the Ammunition.UPC file. the Ammunition file gets the Info and Notes from the TSR. do not ask me to explain that one. [Ammunition 10] ID=Mk16Torpedo NameDisplayable= Mark 16 Torpedo Type= AmmoTorpedo Subtype=Mk16TorpUS AmmunitionIntervalOptionCurrent= NULL, NULL, 0 AmmunitionIntervalOptions1= 1945-01-01, 1975-01-01, 400 Volume= 1 PackSize=1 Info=Mk16TorpInfo Notes= so.....once i updated the Ammo.upc file with the proper field from the TSR, the Info displays in the game. bing...bang...BOOM thanks for confirming that it is not I who is the moron.
