Default The scale issue .

Let me say first off , I think the game is coming along quite nicely .
I like most everything ive seen .
My only enduring gripe , has to do with scale .
And my only point of reference here is sh5 , But sh5 feels like its bigger , the ocean feels bigger , the boat feels bigger , the other boats feel bigger .
And I don't know if its an issue with FOV or what but its ... kind of a big deal .

UB Graphically , in FP view , is obviously much better , the water is so much better , the boat inside , just better .. but the scale thing brings it all back to a point that SH5 is actually a better looking game ,subjectively , to me ..
Im talking about stuff that i realise i don't completely understand , im not even sure what the exact issue is that im speaking of is a scale issue , or fov or something else entirely .
I just didnt see where anyone else had brought it up , and i have seen a couple of mods trying( and failing) to address it .
If this could be fixed , this game might actually take SH5 crown down the road .

I'm also liking the game and looking forward to the upcoming patch as well. Following this, hopefully someone can address your question

Really valid point there, and one of the big gripes that put me off the game,
It feels like the entire atlantic has been crammed down to the size of the black sea. I believe the SH games world scale was something like 0.3 of the real world, but it still felt about right.
In Uboat it must be a tiny fraction of that. You can be barely out of your French Port before you start detecing ships off the Cornish coast or mid atlantic convoys. The game world feels tiny in Uboat, Its a real shame.
Other Gripes were: I hated the angled 3d map, I disliked the UI being shoved in all 4 corners of the screen, situational awareness was very difficult at times. not enough focus on what makes a Uboat sim/game fun - which is the combat element. In hindsight, crew managment is really a chore at best, and not really a good central focus to build the game around.

I am hoping though, that next time a Uboat sim is made, SHV and Uboat will provide a lesson on the risks and trade offs of experimental concepts. While Sh3/4 and Cold waters will be much more solid examples of what actually makes a sub sim enjoyable.
